Public Puppy (Basic) Obedience Classes

Puppy classes are a great opportunity to socialize your puppy (with people and other puppies) and get him started on the right "paw" in life!  The usual age for puppies in Puppy Class is 16 weeks and over.  Proof of all puppy immunizations is required.  Younger dogs will be considered on an individual basis.  Spectators are welcome, but are asked to please leave their puppies at home.  Puppy classes are held on Tuesday evenings at 6:30 pm at the Allen County Fairgrounds.  Classes run for 4 weeks and are scheduled to run throughout the year.  Contact the corresponding secretaries for upcoming dates, or select "Class" in the navigator menu on your left.
Some of the subjects covered in the puppy classes include:
  • Crate Training
  • House Breaking
  • Chewing
  • Biting
  • Jumping on people/furniture
  • Preventing aggression
  • Shyness
  • Collar and leash introduction
  • Commands: Sit, Down, Come, Stay
  • Plus individual problems (as time allows)
