Tracking Classes

 

Beginner Tracking Class ~ Monday 6pm-8pm -  March 31, April 7, April 21, and April 28. 

 

Instructors:  Pam Johnson and Barb Croy.                     $40 or 40 PAWS points.

 

This class is for anyone wanting to get started in tracking and for those already tracking but not yet ready for  the advanced class.  We will be tracking at the fields in Auburn and working on starts, turns, motivation, reading your dog, line handling, article indication,  and track laying.   You will need a tracking harness, 6 foot leash, tracking line if you are already tracking, scented articles, soft yummy treats, and small notebook and pencil.   This is a working class and all members will be laying tracks, following along and observing on others tracks, as well as tracking their own dogs.  Bitches in season are welcome in this class, but will be running the last track of the evening.  All dogs will be crated in vehicles while we lay tracks and while others run their tracks.  Questions and sign up with Pam Johnson blackyellowlabs@comcast.net.

 

 Tracking: Problem Solving- Instructors:  Rhonda Woody and Marlene Hill - Sunday afternoons 4:00-6:00pm, March 30, April 6, April 20, April 27.   This class will work  through common obstacles found in advanced tracks concentrating on cross  tracks, contaminated fields, and audience distractions. Time allowing, we will  also work aged tracks, road and path crossings, and cover changes.    This class is designed for those teams who  can follow tracks up to one hour old, and demonstrate accuracy on turns.  Auditors welcomed, encouraged, and may be put to work!  Class will be held at various locations in fields in Auburn.  For questions and/or class sign up contact  Rhonda Woody at gr8rotts@aol.com.
