Public & Beginner Obedience Classes
Start off on the right paw!
Whether seeking a companion in your dog or considering other activities, sound obedience training establishes good communication, helps ensure safety, and sets you on course to enjoy a well-behaved companion. Our instructors volunteer countless hours in preparing classes, and helping you find joy in training your K9 partner.
At FWOTC, you will begin with our public Beginner Obedience or Puppy Steps class. Upon completion of your adult beginner obedience public class, we hope you decide to join this great group of dog lovers and become a member of FWOTC! Check out our Training & Activities page to see many of the opportunities we offer our members. Also, your first Obedience Fundamentals class as a member is free!
Prior to becoming a member of FWOTC, you must complete the Beginner Obedience class. Email info@fwotc.com if you are unable to register for classes or need added to a waitlist (include desired class time, your name, phone number, dogs name, breed and age). You will receive confirmation letting you know your registration request has been received.

Public Classes
Housekeeping & Vaccine Requirements
– All owners/handlers must clean up after their dog. If you don’t have potty bags, some are available in the building.
- Please take your dog out to potty prior to class.
– Exercise energetic dogs before class. Feed as you see fit – we encourage you to bring plenty of treats.
– Bring a paper copy of vaccines to first class.
– Handlers must be at least 12 years of age and physically capable of handling their dog.
– Dog should wear a properly fitted color with a 6′ leash. We have some supplies for purchase – your instructor will be happy to help you.
Proof of Vaccines
Following are the vaccines required. Bring proof of vaccines to the first day of class.
– DHLPP (Lepto optional)
– Rabies
– Bordetella (every 6 months recommended)
– Influenza (recommended)
– Puppies must be 12 wks old, with at least two rounds of DHLPP (Lepto is optional)
